The unintended expat blogger behind PlinPryPlinRyn

Hi, I am Emma
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't part of our long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The opening months were overwhelming — unfamiliar setups, new habits, and higher expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines fell into place. We found places that fit our needs, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built PlinPryPlinRyn
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to narrow that gap — practical advice grounded in actual life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Real-world experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Emma
